At Southern Kids, we love welcoming children of all ages to a space that’s safe, fun, and designed to help them grow in faith and community.

During the main service, we offer four age-specific programs, each tailored to meet children where they’re at in a warm and engaging way:

  • Creche: 6 months to 3 years

  • Little Kids: 3 to 5 years

  • School-Aged Kids: Years 1 to 6

  • High School Youth: Years 7 to 12

All children join adults in the main hall for the first part of the service, and leave before the sermon to go to their programs. Children will need to be signed in and out of the program by a parent or guardian. After the service, we set out some toys in the main hall, which your children can play with under parent supervision

Once the main service finishes, parents are asked to pick up and sign out their children from their program, and enjoy morning tea while supervising their children playing in the main hall.

Creche (6 months to 3 years)

Preschool children aged six months to 3 years are provided with a program for supervision and play which is run by our Southern Kids volunteers. We aim to provide a fun, positive environment for children in our church community, and to free parents and caregivers up to participate in the main service. You can find more details about how we run the program in the Creche  Procedure document below.

This program is situated in the Hive room at the Youth Centre.

Little KIDS Program (3-5 years)

Children aged three to five are  provided with a program for supervision and play which is run by our Southern Kids volunteers. We aim to provide a fun, positive environment for children in our church community, and to free parents and caregivers up to participate in the main service. Each week we sing songs, hear a story from the Bible, and do a themed craft. We also have lots of great toys and enjoy some free play each week. You can find more details about how we run the program in the Little Kids Procedure document below.

This program is situated in the Pod room at the Youth Centre.

Parents and Babies Space

Parents are welcome to keep their children quietly in the service, and there is a designated area at the back of the hall for babies to play quietly, or the foyer is available for parents to feed or settle children. Parents are also welcome to attend the preschool to pre-primary program with their child for part or all of the service.
